THE FINAL BLOG POST!

Dear 5th Grade,
It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to be your teacher this year.  My prayer is that each of you will have a saving relationship with Jesus and that He would be your first love.  Have a wonderful and safe summer and I'll see you all in August.  Alexis, Bianca and Hannah, we will miss you three.  Please don't be stangers and keep in touch.  May God guide your paths and remain close to you.

Below are portions of your final Bible assessment.  I hope that this last post - along with the rest of the blog -  will be a reminder of who you were as 5th graders.  I am proud of you all and have thoroughly enjoyed watching you learn, grow and mature.

Josh:
The thing I have learned is that God has unending love and sometimes, if you do a bad thing, you might think God won't love you.  But, the way I looked at it this year is that Jesus died for us.  So, no matter what, God loves you because He see you like his Son.  So, we have nothing to worry about; his love is unending.

Greg:
The main thing I've learned about this year is that God made us in his own image.  He created us to look like our own family.  If you have straight hair or curly hair it all comes from somebody in your family.

Dylan:
I learned that God created me like this for a reason.  He made me this way for a time in my life.  He has a plan for me in my life.  God will test my faith and love.  He made like this for something special.

Chase:
I learned a lot things about God this year.  This is my lifst of things I learned about.
1)  I learned that it's ok for God to get angry.  I always thought that God was very happy and never got angry but I learned that God can get very angry at people.
2)  I learned that God split himself from JEsus when Jesus died on the cross.  I always that that God never split himself from Jesus.  God is harsh about mistakes and sins for Pete's sake.  A man from Israel bragged that he had money then God took his money and the man died.

Olivia:
I have learned many things this year about God and the Bible.  Oneof the most encouraging verses is 2 Corinthians 5:17.  This verse says for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has gone and the new has come.  Also 1 Corinthians 13:1-3.  This verse says that if I can speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstacy but don't love, I'm tnothing, but the creaking of a rusty gate.  If I speak God's words revealing all of His mysteries and making everything as plain as day and have faith to say to a mountain jump and it jumps, but do not love I'm nothing.  If I give all I owe to the poor or even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr but don't love, I've gotten nowhere.  So no matter what I say, no matter what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.  Those have encouraged me majorly.

Alexis:
At home, my Mom and I were discussing repentance.  Now most people (including me) think repentance is just saying sorry.  But really, repentance is saying sorry and...never doing it again.  The first time I did something wsronga nd said sorry, but honestly, I could care less.  The second time, I finally learned what repentance really is.  If you are really sorry, your actions will show it.  There was a verse in 1 John that I recite everyday...most of the time.  1 Joh 1:0 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purigy us from all righteousness."  That verse has completely changed my life.

Beau:
One thing that I learned about God is that he's merciful and forgiving from our sin.  If Jesus hadn't died for us we would have to kill animals as sacrifice.

Isa:
On March 6, 2014, Julia and Tessa talked about Proud Guy and Humble Guy.  Proud Guy uses his eyes to see himself, he uses his mouth to brag, he uses his ears to hear himself, he uses his hands to fight and feet to throw a temper tantrum.  Now, Humble Guy uses his eyes to look at other people, mouth to encourage, ears to hear other peoplpe, hands to help, and feet to go help other people.  God is like Humble Guy.  I can apply this to my life by trying to be like Humble Guy.

Leighton:
As a child of God I learned that God is the one God and that he is the salt and the light.  God is my savior.  YOu have not been saved until you accept God as your savior.  As a child of God, I have learned so many things about my faith and trust in the Lord.  In the Bible, I've really taken the verse, love you God with all your heart, mind, sould, and strength because it says love God no matter what.

Leah:
One thing I've learned as a child of God is that I'm loved by God.  In the Bible it says that God loves us no matter what happens.  He has loved us even when Adam and Eve sinned.  He is love us right now even thought there is a lot of messed up things in this world and He will never stop loving us even when the world ends and we go up to live with Him.

Emily:
One main things that I learned about being a child of God is that I used to be a sinner.  I still am but then I found Christ.  Jesus took away my sins.  I am white as snow because of Jesus.  I now have to take on the sacrifice of being a Christian.  For example, being teased or bullied for my faith but I still love Jesus with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Mak:
I have learned being a child of God has helped me to believe in God as a stronger Christian.

Bianca:
One thing I have learned this year about God is how powerful He is.  2 Corinthians 13:4 says, "For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God's power.  Likewise, we are weak in Him, yet by God's power we will live with him in dealing with you."

God's Not Dead Movie Reflections

Here are your movie reflections.  Please comment on at least 2 other classmate's reflections.  I would encourage you to comment on everyone's if you have time.

Parents, if you haven't seen the movie, I encourage you to do so.  We were all impacted in a powerful way yesterday afternoon.  Please write a response to at least your child's reflection.

Olivia:
This movie has impacted me in so many ways.  I felt bad for most of the characters.  I wish everyone had the courage to do what Josh Wheaton did.  It will effect me because now I know that if I defend God, I can share the gospel with others.  I can stand up for Jesus as a 5th grader because if I hear someone say something bad about God, then I can help them understand the gospel.  I can defend my faith and relationship with God by #1, helping spread the gospel and #2, I can stand up for Jesus when someone is saying rude things about Him.

Chase:
I can preach his name to people that do not know about it.  It affected my relationsihp with God in that I need to stand up for him in any way I can and never be aggressive when I try and preach his name to people.  It doesn't really have anything to do with me but there was this one time in my life that a kid said God is not real.  I stood up for God but sadly the kid was never convinced but it was his choice not mine.  In conclusion, I know God will test my faith but in my opinion I'm not ready for it.

Greg:
This movie has to do with me because it taught me to stand up for Jesus and God.  It's like standing up for your best friend.  This will impact my everyday life because if someone says God's name in a bad way, you can defend him.  I can stand up for Jesus as a 5th grader by defending him by making him my savior.  I can defend my faith and relationship with my savior by defending him, praying to him, reading his gospel and sacrificing everything to him.

Dylan:
I feel like it impacted me in my faith and be more faithful and help me understand what God wants me to do.  I can stand up to people that use God's name in vain and tell them that it is wrong.  I can tell people about him and let people know about Jesus.  If someone is mocking God and saying he is dead, I can give reasons why he is alive and he has plans for that person mocking God.  I can also tell him to tell others about God too.

Josh:
Now that I have watched that movie, I know more ways to stand up for my faith.  The movie has impacted me so much in my faith.  It is like I am a new person.  I know more about lots of things I take for granted and I know I am so lucky to go to a school that gives me a wonderful education.

Beau:
This movie really impacted me.  I feel now that I should spread the word of God to people who don't even know God.  I could stand up for God by defending his word and to tell them about Jesus.  I can defend my faith by truly believing in God and not believing in atheism.  I should teach people about the word of God.  If someone was saying bad stuff about God, I should stand up for God and teach him about Jesus.  I wish everyone would believe in God.

Alexis:
Since I'm a real Christian, it is my job to stand up to God.  Most people say they are Christians but when nobody is looking, they smoke, drink, take drugs and all sorts of bad stuff.  But, even if I'm scared to, I should try to stand up for God.  When I'm in college or high school, I might run into a teacher who is an atheist and will give me an F if I don't say God is Dead!  I have to remember no matter what he/she will do to me, I have to stand up for my belief.  If you take baseball or volleyball or even dance and someone on your team could be bad mouthing God or using His name in vain, you should go straight over there and tell them to stop making fun of God!  This may not involve some of you but if you live in China or Malaysia, then it's illegal to believe in God or preach the gospel.  The way you could stand up for your relationship is no matter if they kill, put you in jail, or beat you, you should keep on believing!!

MaKenzi:
The movie has to do with me because I can stand up for my beliefs and tell people about Jesus and who God is and what he can do for you and why you should believe in God as your Savior.  The lessons I learned from the movie is I could bring anybody to God and bring them to be a strong faithful Christian.  I could tell them that if you believe in God you could have the best life in heaven and live eternity there forever and ever.  God will bless you.  If you disown God, God will disown you.  I can stand up for Jesus as a 5th grader to defend Jesus if people are saying God's not real or using his name in vain.  I could go up and say I am a Christian and it's sinful to talk like that about God.  God wants to be your friend.  You just need to believe.  I can defend my faith in God by acting like a Christian and when people are talking bad about God.  I should say its not nice to talk like that about God.  then I could tell them how Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that God sent his ONLY son down to die for us.  Then I could tell them John 3:16.

Leah:
It has do with me because if my friend does no believe in Jesus I can tell them about him and if they ask question after question about him, I'll be ready to give an answer to all of their questions even if they just mock me.  I'll get on my high horse and teach them about him.  It impacts my everday life because I learned that I need to not let other people mock God and step up for him and be proud of my belief in him.  I can stand up to Jesus like this, so there is a line of people making fun of him.  I step up in front of the line and say that Jesus is the lord and savior and that they need to stop because you're just making fun of yourself because if you're saying that, everything he made is bad.  Then you are really just saying that everyone and everything in the world is bad.  I can defend my faith by saying that he is my lord and savior and that nothing you say can't make him not be.  I can also say that they have their beliefs and I have mine.

Leighton:
This movie has taught me to stand up for what I believe in and to guide others to Jesus so they may live a happy life with him.  When people are bullying, gossipping or making fun or saying bad words, I usually walk away and ignore them.  But, I've realized I should put an end to it and stop the hate being shared.  I will teach the gospel to friends or even family members who disrespect God, and my atttitgude will be positive and be an example of God to others.  As a 5th grader, I can't convince an adult as an adult can, but I show God's love by being good to one another.  If I am being bullied for my faith, I can either keep on being bullied or allow them so that I can tell them why I am letting them so they may know God.  I want to teach people God's word to show them that they need God and without God, chances are they will ive an unhappy life.  God isn't dead.

Isa:
Sometimes people will mock God.  Sometimes people will ask you, "why do you believe in God?"  And they expect you to have an answer.  So what do you do about it?  You want to stand up for God, but you don't know how.  I think you should always have an answer or example to prove to people that GOD IS ALIVE.  Christians will be persecuted, mostly in college.  They'll take a class where their teacher is an atheist.  They get called out and mocked for their faith in God.  In the movie, God's Not Dead, Josh got picked on for having faith in God.  He stood up for God.  He gave examples and answers that support that God is alive.  This can impact my life by showing I love God and by sharing the gospel with non-believers.  I can stand up for God by telling people that I don't like them mocking God.  I'll tell them I'm Christian.  I can stand up for God by telling people the gospel.  I can defend my faith and my relationship with God by explaining to people what He does and how much He loves us and cares for us.  God's Not Dead!

Emily:
This movie has do with me because I am a Christian. I have once been teased by someone because of my faith. People in this movie suffered because they were Christians. This movie impacted me to stand strong and teach the Gospel to other people no matter what other people say, because God is always with me. I can  stand up for Jesus by being a humble, loving, and caring Christian. I can defend my faith by standing strong and walking humbly with my Lord and Savior.👍😃😉😊💚

March Poem Memory - The American's Creed

Hi 5th Grade,
A number of you requested that I post this on the blog.  It's due this Friday.  Enjoy.

The American’s Creed

William Tyler Page

I believe in the United States of America
As a government
Of the people,
By the people,
For the people,
Whose just powers are derived
From the consent of the governed;
A democracy in a Republic;
A sovereign Nation of many sovereign states;
A perfect Union,
One and inseparable;
Established upon those principles
Of freedom, equality, justice and humanity
For which American patriots
Sacrificed their lives and fortunes.
Therefore, I believe it is my duty
To my country to love it,
To support its Constitution,
To obey its laws,
To respect its flag,
And to defend it against all enemies.
